Welcome! We are a coalition of Washington State community prevention coalitions funded through the federal Drug Free Communities Act  (DFC) Grants in partnership with SAMHSA, ONDCP, and CADCA.

The WCoC is a coalition of WA State DFC grantees joined around a common purpose of working to prevent and reduce the harmful effects of underage drinking and substance abuse in communities throughout Washington. We share an approach to substance abuse prevention that employs "environmental strategies" that impact availability, enforcement and norms to create population-level change. 

We have come together to better our collective ability to impact the environmental prevention factors that impact the health of the youth in our communities and across our state. The WCoC serves WA DFC prevention coalitions through:

• environmental prevention advocacy
  

• support and dissemination of state level environmental prevention efforts
